Testimonials

"Kamal Latham has played an important role in helping UPS achieve business development objectives in China. Kamal’s invaluable advice and guidance has enabled us to better navigate complex regulatory and public policy issues in China."
- Steve Okun, Vice President for Public Affairs, UPS Asia Pacific

“I have never been better briefed, or the schedule better arranged than on my last trip to China. Your ability to arrange on short notice meetings with key government officials to discuss trade and investment opportunities between the twelve Midwestern states and China was invaluable. Your knowledge and contacts with educational institutions and the media will go a long way in helping us to establish our brand in China. I was particularly pleased with the meetings you had arranged with important agriculture, energy and environmental organizations with little advance notice.”
- Governor Bob Holden, Governor of Missouri 2001-2005 and Chairman of the Midwest U.S.-China Association

“I know Kamal Latham well from having worked with him closely while I was at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He served as my control officer when I traveled to China several times for negotiations with Chinese officials. He did an absolutely superb job on every assignment with the right combination of attention to detail, substantive knowledge, cultural understanding and tact that makes him very effective in China. I have since worked with Diplomatic Treatment in my current capacity in private practice. They handled all the China arrangements for the 2009 China/U.S. Aviation Symposium and we were a sponsor of the event. As expected, everything was done extremely well. I highly recommend Diplomatic Treatment.”
- Andrew B. Steinberg, Partner, Jones Day and the former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Transportation for Aviation and International Affairs

"I met Kamal Latham while he was serving as Deputy Chief of the Trade and Transportation Policy Unit for the Economic Affairs Section at American Embassy Beijing. During that period, we witnessed Kamal play a key role in negotiating both the 2007 Air Services Agreement, and U.S.-China Tourism accord. That new air services agreement opened the opportunity for Delta to launch our initial service to China. That was an opportunity Delta had been actively seeking for many years. However, significant challenges were encountered during preparations to launch the new China route. With Kamal’s insight, experience and tact he deftly coordinated efforts at the Embassy which lead to resolving those issues very efficiently and effectively. It was a privilege, and pleasure, to have the opportunity to work with Kamal."
- Burt Pinoli, General Manager - Greater China, Delta Air Lines
